Floral Accreditation and Certification
National Garden Club (NGC) accreditation refers to official recognition for individuals and their accomplishments in the field of gardening, horticulture, and landscape design through their School Programs and the achievement of Consultant and Flower Show Judge Status.
Key Accreditation Pathways
Gardening School:
Accreditation: NGC Gardening Consultant.
Process: Attend the four-course series, pass exams covering horticulture, soils, pest control, plant identification, and sustainable practices.
Flower Show School:
Accreditation: NGC Flower Show Judge.
Process: Complete four classes in Horticulture, Design, and Flower Show Procedure, earn exhibition credits, and attend symposiums.
Environmental School & Landscape Design School:
Accreditation: NGC Environmental Consultant and NGC Landscape Design Consultant.
Process: Similar to Gardening School, attend a series of courses, pass exams, and apply for accreditation.
Steps to Become Accredited

Join an NGC Member Club
Become a member of a garden club affiliated with National Garden Clubs, Inc.

Attend the School
Register for the school(s) corresponding to the accreditation you seek (Gardening, Flower Show, Environmental, or Landscape Design).

Complete the Courses and Exams
Fulfill the course requirements for your chosen school.

Apply for Accreditation
After completing all required courses and exams, submit the official application for Consultant or Judge status.
Maintaining Accreditation
Refresher Courses
Consultants and Judges must take refresher courses every five years to maintain their status.
Symposiums
Accredited Flower Show Judges must attend NGC Symposiums to remain in "Good Standing".
Advanced Status
Four Star Membership
Achieved by completing all four NGC Schools and earning both Consultant and Judge status.
Five Star Membership
Achieved by attaining Master Status in all four NGC Schools.
