Alta Vista Garden Club was organized and federated in 1951, with Ruby Wilkinson serving as its first president. The purpose of AVGC is to stimulate interest in and knowledge of the different forms of gardening, particularly our private gardens and the general improvement of home landscapes that aid in the protection of native trees, plants, and wildlife; and promote general civic improvement in Prescott and its environs.
