The Benefits of Belonging to a Garden Club
The rewards of joining a local club within the National Garden
Clubs umbrella go far beyond the pleasures of growing things.
Becoming a member almost anywhere in the
U.S. or affiliated international locations is
simple and inexpensive. Yet membership opens the door for you
to explore a wide range of common interests with people around the
world and across the generations.
- Grow your knowledge via top-notch schools and courses as well as
other timely educational programs.
- Garden for a purpose with community service projects,
disaster relief efforts, and skill-building activities in
eco-scaping(Habitat project?), beautification, etc.
- Network for learning, service and
community-building.
- Promote environmental causes on a local, regional and national
basis.
- Grow your own edibles or launch a community edible garden, for tastier,
healthier, less expensive local fare.
- Learn to make the most of resources, including your available
garden space.
- Enhance your garden's sustainability, reducing maintenance,
planting "native" and saving water.
- Nurture your inner artist with floral design study and flower
shows.
- Learn from those with experience, and pass along your own
passion and know-how to new generations of gardeners.
- And have fun, whatever you choose to get involved in.

How to Start a Garden Club or Partner with Us
National Garden Clubs welcomes start-up clubs tailored
specifically to your groups' needs and interests, whether they be
online, weekend or evening meeting times, a focus on organic and
edible gardening, or gardening for good causes, such as
horticultural therapy projects, disaster relief, or community
gardens.
We also invite partnerships with existing groups or special
interest clubs that fall within the overall mission of National
Garden Clubs. By joining together in common causes and
pursuits, we can achieve so much more on many levels-personal,
community and national.
NGC and its state-level organizations can help you get started
and provide access to the wealth of resources and networking
opportunities that our global reach offers.
The first step is to contact us with your ideas and
questions. We look forward to hearing from you and working
together.
