44th President of National Garden Clubs, Inc.
Sandra H. Robinson, 44th President of National Garden Clubs, lives in London, Kentucky with Bill, her husband of forty-two years. She is a mother of three daughters, and grandmother to three granddaughters and four grandsons.
She has experienced many firsts during her time in garden clubs. At her first state meeting she served as the registrar. At her first district meeting she was elected as a District Director. She saw and staged her first flower show in her own home, and she attended her first National meeting as a chauffeur, driving others who wanted to attend. She will have to settle for being the second National Garden Club President from Kentucky, as Nannine Clay Wallis was the first.
Sandra is active at the state, regional and national levels of NGC. She is a Charter Member of the Lady Slipper's Garden Club, which formed in 1985 when 15 members of the London Younger Woman's Club met to start a new club. She served as president of The Garden Club of Kentucky from 2001 – 2003. She believes the opportunities for personal growth are limitless in garden clubs if you are willing to accept offered leadership roles. Sandra often says, “Garden Club has given me more than I can ever give back".
Robinson is a Four Star Member as a Master Landscape Design and Gardening Consultant, Accredited Flower Show Judge and Environmental Consultant. While attending the NGC schools and judging flower shows she realized how similar the challenges across State and International borders are and what NGC members face while making a world of difference.
Sandra is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a B.A. in Interior Design. She believes in giving back and is a lifelong volunteer which has included serving on the school board, athletic boosters, numerous civic organizations, alumni organization, local club activities and garden club boards. Sandra is actively involved in her church. Sandra, better known as Sandy, loves rug hooking, traveling, reading, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
