Gardening opens whole new areas of exploration, awareness, enjoyment, amazement and learning for children. Appreciation of the natural world comes from understanding how plants, animals, humans and insects interact with.

By encouraging garden clubs to sponsor youth groups, NGC hopes to spark an interest and love of gardening in children, not only to improve and maintain our environment but for the sheer fun of "digging in the dirt."

The activities listed on the site are some ideas for grownups and children to do gardening together and share each other's learning about the natural world.
